The Ebenezer Mixed Use project, known as Griffin & Gospel, is a transformative development designed to honor the rich cultural and musical history of the area while introducing modern residential, commercial, and educational spaces. The mission is to create a vibrant, inclusive community that integrates housing, retail, music, and cultural institutions to foster social interaction, economic growth, and community engagement. Anchored by the historic Ebenezer Third Baptist Church, this project aims to celebrate the past while driving the future of music and culture in Austin.
Located on the edge of downtown and East Austin, the project features key components such as a Residential Tower, Student Housing, and a Museum of Music and Sound. The development spans over 1 million square feet, offering 324 residential units, student housing for 350 students, and a six-level parking garage with rooftop amenities. Additional features include a live performance space, food and beverage options, retail spaces, and cultural music hubs, creating a unique blend of community-focused environments.
The project serves both the local community and a broader audience by offering housing, cultural experiences, and economic opportunities. By integrating a Museum of Music, live performance spaces, and historical soundscapes, Griffin & Gospel creates an immersive environment that honors Austin's musical heritage while supporting future generations. The vision is to establish a cultural epicenter that bridges the gap between history and innovation, making the area a hub for residents, students, and visitors alike.
